The title of this exhibition alludes to the fragility of any given situation, as well as to the courage to approach the constructedness of reality artistically and to reveal its fractures and shifts. Between facade and content, between information and meaning, contradictions reveal themselves and question images of self, of others, and of things. The question of the media-readability of photographic imagery in times of visual oversaturation is always in play. Ten independent positions demonstrate the vitality of photography and its ability to respond to challenges in diverse and contemporary ways. Located in the field of tension between illustration, artistic interpretation, and concept, the works challenge the viewer to look behind the surface.
