Künstler*innen: Granderath&Oliveira with Torben Spieker and Aline Winchester

ISO (TO GO) invites you to track the ghostly traces we leave in and through our mobile photos.

This playful chat sends you and your phone off to hunt for ghost photos using the Telegram app. In short rounds, you will anonymously meet another ghost hunter, with whom you will share photos of space ghosts, light ghosts, digital ghosts, or uncertain ghosts. You can play from home or on the go, between two exhibition venues of the Triennial of Photography Hamburg or on your way into the dusk. The haunted chat game includes ghostly shadows, blurred selfies, and possessed visual effects. In the end you might even succeed in taking over Granderath&Oliveira’s Photo Studio for Ghosts and Daughters.

ISO (TO GO) is a digital platform created by the performance duo Granderath&Oliveira in cooperation with media artist and programmer Torben Spieker. The chat is part of the serial, participatory project ISO on private photography realized at the LICHTHOF Theater Hamburg in 2021. ISO connects photography and chats as omnipresent everyday practices and puts the radical expansion of theater within the digital realm to the test.

The chat is conducted in German. Participation is free of charge and possible anywhere, anytime between 19.00 and 23.00 (CEST). It is helpful if your mobile phone is fully charged. Headphones and a flashlight are also useful, although not mandatory, to become the Best Ghost Hunter.

ISO (TO GO) is a project by Greta Granderath and Juliana Oliveira. Artistic Collaborators: Moritz Frischkorn, Torben Spieker. Project Collaborators: Katja Kruglikova, Johanna Scheler and Aline Winchester. Produced as part of ISO, a project by Granderath&Oliveira at the LICHTHOF Theater Hamburg: lichthof- theater.de/iso, funded by the Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government for Culture and Media.
